Developing a long-term Environment Strategy - a public consultation

Posted

North Wales Fire and Rescue Authority is ensuring people have their say on the development of its long-term Environmental Strategy.

Councillor Peter Lewis, Chair of the Fire and Rescue Authority, explains: “As an Authority, we are very proud of what the fire and rescue service has already achieved in terms of its environmental policies, but we recognise that we need to continue to do more.

“If you have an interest in the future of the fire and rescue service, then this consultation is aimed at you - you don’t need to be an expert in environmental issues to respond.”

The Authority wants to know what the public thinks the strategy should include?

What should be at the forefront of the Authority’s thinking in terms of planning for the next 20 or 30 years? What ideas do you have for the services that it might provide in the next decades?

Looking back over the past 30 years, we have seen significant changes in how people live and also what local people expect to contribute towards, and receive from, public services - what do you think is likely to happen over the next 30 years?

Climate change, environmental responsibility, social responsibility … what would you like to see in the Fire and Rescue Service’s plans for the future?

These are just some of the questions posed by the consultation.

People can find out more and how to get involved here, or by following North Wales Fire and Rescue Service on Twitter or Facebook.

To have your say - please complete the consultation questionnaire which is available here.

Responses must be forwarded by the deadline on 31st December 2019.

The Authority will consider its future plans in light of the responses received and will publish the final 2020-21 Improvement and Well-being Plan by 31st March 2020.
